Murder mystery solved
LAHORE: Ghari Shahu police on Monday resolved the mystery of a house robbery in which an elderly woman was killed and another was injured. The murdered woman’s daughter-in-law, her brother and maternal uncle were involved in the incident, Civil Lines Operations Superintendent of Police (SP) Sohail Ahmad Sukhera and Investigation SP Haider Ashraf announced at a press conference on Monday. They said that police were informed that some unidentified robbers had took away cash and valuables from a local trader’s house and murdered his mother and injured his wife when they resisted the robbery. They said that police officers rushed to the scene and started investigations into the case, which revealed that the robbery incident was a cover up for the murder and police officers took the house owner, Rizwan, and his injured wife, Saima, into custody for interrogation. During the interrogation, the SPs said, Saima confessed to her crime and disclosed that she had planned to kill her mother-in-law. She, in connivance with her brother, Qasim, and maternal uncle, Inam, killed her mother-in-law, the officials said. saff report
